I would like to run a check against the standard Microsoft Windows Messaging Inbox on NT. I have an application that uses Windows Messaging in order to communicate with the outside world, however occasionally the SMTP connection fails and there is nothing to indicate this other than the fact that I get a backlog of messages queuing in the Windows Messaging Outbox. I will be moving away from this method of communicating with the outside world at some point but until then I need some method of automatically monitoring it. Does anyone know of a way to check if there are any messages in the Windows Messaging Outbox? I assume countfiles could possibly be used, but how I don't know. Does anyone have any ideas?
