Yes, I would like to see something like this.  I can't use our main Lotus Notes server because it won't allow relaying, so I have an SMTP server running on the Servers Alive machine.  This requires running parts of IIS, which I am not happy about.  If you could incorporate mail functionality (CDONTS or CDOSYS?) into Servers Alive, I could get rid of SMTP and IIS.

Sending mail directly to the destination SMTP server is that something that
is interesting for you guys?
(with that we mean that instead of sending the mail to your smtp server who
will relay it to the destination SMTP server, we would directly connect to
the destination server (based on the MX record of the TO of the mail) and
send it).
