No, Im running the Remote Desktops application that comes with the
Administrative
Tools for XP. There you can choose "connect to console" in the GUI.

But that's the same thing as the /console switch.

Are you running Remote desktop with the "\console" switch?

Using the Windows XP Remote Desktop client you will have to start the
Remote Desktop client from a command prompt by such as "mstsc /console
/v:server_name_here"

That should let you see the console, and the tray icon.... :)

If you run SA as a service, can you see the tray icon when you log into
2003 over Remote Desktop?  That doesn't seem to work for me.  (Not SA's
fault, just the way Windows Terminal Services works.)
