Well, interestingly enough, my external ISP on the receive side is in the process of
upgrading their spam filtering, so some of the messages tagged as spam do actually
make it into the destination mailbox when they take down the spam filters. Those that
I have seen show up, do seem to correctly be seen by SA during a POP3 retrieval. This
is however not really conclusive.

The originator said that his ISP was added a spam tag to the subject -
[SPAM] - and I'm wondering if that skews the check that the SMTP2POP3 does,
of it SA can deal with that change of the subject line.

|Question: Is SMTP2POP3 able to work around the addition to the
|subject line?
|
|Further question: Would it make sense to replicate the subject
|as the body
|of the message - that would be *much* less likely to be messed with by
|stupid ISP automatic spam checkers.

||
||I think changing the check is the wrong way to go. Isn't there
||a whitelist
||for your spam filter? A way to exclude the Salive emails?

||
||Ok, I'm showing the following subject in the emails that are
||being sent:
||"[SPAM] 12345676788900"
||
||These sometime don't make it to the destination mailbox.
||
||Now I know that the numbers are a slightly randomized date
||time stamp, and
||I'm assuming that the "[SPAM]" part is being conviently added by my
||companies spam service (Sprint, I believe). I have spoken with
||some other
||email admins and the general thought is that it is being
|marked as spam
||because of either the "numbers only in the subject line" rule,
||or the "no
||message body" rule.
||
||Can either of these attributes of the outbound message be changed?
