I believe that NAV creates an Activity.log file for the status tracking.

IF the file layout is applicable, you could create an ODBC connection to the file with
the "text file" connector. Then you could use the COMODBC add-on to run a SQL query
against it.

Not sure on the specifics, but it might work.

I'd have to see a sample activity.log file to double check.

Has anyone figured out how to configure the software to reach out to a
remote site (thru VPN or other means) and check to see if any viruses were
found by NAV on a given workstation? Most of my clients are small
businesses, so don't have Corporate AV or even server software, so they use
NAV 2004 on Win2k Pro or XP pro usually. They are typically sitting behind a
VPN Dlink router with a static IP, so getting to them safely shouldn't be a
problem. I just don't know what to do after that.

Confession: I am a novice user and am WAY outclassed by most of the users of
this software in this forum, so if you are willing to help me, just assume I
am a junior level technician with a limited understanding of script writing,
snmp etc.cause I am. ;-D

Thank you,
