I would suggest (while you're already testing) to have a 2nd NIC.
And once the backup started to force a change in the default route (to use
the 2nd NIC instead of the 1st NIC) and to "see" if the backup software
continues to use the 1st or switches to the 2nd NIC. If it continues to use
the 1st NIC, then SA should use the new default route being the 2nd NIC.
And once the backup is done you can switch it back to a default route over
the 1st NIC.
Change the default route to use the 1st or 2nd NIC is something you can do
with a .BAT/.CMD file and you can do this via the scheduler (the starting of
those .bat/.cmd files).

Could be an interesting test. I'd like to know the results of it.

etwork Interface Card?

The fact is that sometimes the backup software uses all the bandwidth, so
ServersAlive becomes unreliable and generates some false-alarms. I'm
evaluating whether could be a good idea or not, to put on a second NIC on
the same subnet just for the ServersAlive.

Thanks,
Domingo
