Subject: [SA-list] Additional check data & user fields
Just a thought...
Is there any way I can display on my pager messages (email messages), the amount of time since the DOWN took place, so on subsequent DOWN messages I know how long its been down? Or at least the number of check cycles? SA must keep track of the number of cycles...
My reasoning here being, the oncall person(s) may have a primary oncall, who is handling things, but if they see something has been down for, say, 30 minutes... then they might start making inquiries as to status of the issue. Kind of an "escalation" thing.
Perhaps an additional field that we can put a number of DOWN checks in, then SA sees that the check has been down that number of cycles, it would automatically notify a second set of person(s). Perhaps a Notify Backup or Manager field?
If someone else has asked for this already, forgive me...
Thanks for a wonderful product!!
