I am currently testing about 100 servers each have at least a ping most have
disk space checking and a couple of key services. Should that account for
99% CPU time?

Thanks,

Nathan

The CPU will go up in cases were we use "blocking" calls, like with a ping.
However this should only take a short time.

I am running Servers alive on a HP Netserver with 2GB RAM, 2x 1GHZ P3s, on
Windows 2000 Server OS.

I am finding it difficult to add and change entries on servers alive due to
the CPU going to 50% when the hosts are being checked and 99% when I to add,
change or browse.

I have downloaded the latest version and the problem persists. I am not
sure how long this is been happening as I have not been adding the entries
myself, but I don't recall it being difficult to add the entries on the go
in the past.

Is this abnormal behavior for relatively standard checks? If so do you have
any ideas? I have made a backup of the host file if that might be where to
start looking.

Thanks,

Nathan
