Dirk, If it is any help, this the same thing that happens to me when SA is first started (as a service)...it appears to be setting up the gui that may be causing this.

When I delete an entry I get a 50% CPU spike even though SALIVE is not checking anything. Do other people experience similar behaviour when making changes? If I have to live with it so be, but I have used this product for years and do not recall having ever noticed poor performance when using the application. I am thinking it might make sense to remove Servers Alive with all my add-ons and then rebuild it. Should that account for 99% CPU time? I am finding it difficult to add and change entries on servers alive due to the CPU going to 50% when the hosts are being checked and 99% when I to add, change or browse. I have downloaded the latest version and the problem persists. I am not sure how long this is been happening as I have not been adding the entries myself, but I don't recall it being difficult to add the entries on the go in the past. Is this abnormal behavior for relatively standard checks? If so do you have any ideas? I have made a backup of the host file if that might be where to start looking.
