It's only in v5 that's correct and correct v5 is currently in alpha.
V5 should come out around Jan 15th 2005.

As for using teams/people that can't be done currently since we have no
specific tab for winpopup.

I may have misled people here, I am actually referring to the WinPOP service
(Messenger (Win XP Service Name) - Net Send etc) rather than MSN which is
already included.

But to answer your question - maybe, but this is only available in V5, and I
am running V4.1.1630 in our production environment, I would not be allowed
to run the alpha V5.

Do we have a due date yet for V5, I can probably wait for this functionality
if it is not too far away.

As far as implementing it in V5, if this was included and also the option of
only sending DOWN entries, and the To: field will accept 'teams and people'
then this would probably resolve my problem.

Andy

If we add Windows Messenger to the ways of sending the message your problem
would be solved?

Does anyone out there have Servers Alive set up to send a single alert at
the end of each check cycle indicating that there are checks in a DOWN
condition?

What I am looking to achieve is having Servers Alive send out a single
message at the end of a check cycle indicating that there are checks that
have failed, obviously no message is required if everything is OK.

I have a team of support personnel who are located remotely from the Servers
Alive system, and I want to be able to alert these staff to look at Servers
Alive via a web page and deal with any issues, but I don't want to have each
/ every down condition alerted. I am currently alerting on each down, but
get complaints from support staff if there are a large number of Windows
Messenger alerts, and they also become complacent and don't always read all
alerts if there are a large number, this means that occasionally some DOWN
conditions are overlooked.

I suppose I am looking to implement something similar in idea to the Status
Summary that is in V5, with only DOWN conditions being alerted, although
this doesn't seem to provide for using Windows Messenger as a transport
mechanism.

Any feedback / ideas /examples of anything that may be similar.... would be
appreciated.

Regards,

Andy
