I was able to get everything back - my host.txt file somehow became
host.txt.723093845-843-(random numbers) Renamed it and everything came
in.

I think the firewall might be blocking I will try to get it open and
then follow up if it still doesn't work - Thanks for the help...

Did you just try FILE-OPEN or did you try to IMPORT them?
(file open is the way to go)
As for the groups I can only guess that you installed the beta in a
different directory then the other version? If so copy the groups.grp
over
to the new install.

As for giving the same error, I can then only assume that you don't have
access to port 25 on that remote system. Could be a firewall/router
blocking that access.
Try
        TELNET gsmtp171.google.com 25
What does that give?
(telnet gsmtp185.google.com 25 OR telnet gsmtp57.google.com 25 should
work
too)

I upgraded to the beta and still get the same error. I did notice when
I upgraded I lost all my groups I had created. It tells me the old
format does not work so now I have to reenter all my machines???

Can you try with the latest (beta) build of Servers Alive
(http://beta.woodstone.nu), that's the one I have used for my test.

When I use direct send with no for advanced under authentication I get
Error 10061 Connection is forcefully rejected when I test.

It just works when using "direct send".
You don't need any kind of authentication.

I would like to use it as direct send. Basically I only want it for my
exchange server notifications in case it goes down then my notifications
would be gone.

What SMTP server are you using? Your "own" or using the "direct send"
option?
What does the logfile show?

Has anyone been able to send SMTP mail to a gmail account through SA? I
have it set as my username and password and pop.gmail.com but since they
use encrypted, is there a way to do that???

Thanks
