Ok Found my hosts file. Telephony service is not started, set to
manual. When I try to manually start, I get a popup stating the
telephony service failed to respond in a timely manner. If I attemtp
to change the service to automatic start, the MMC console stops
responding. Any ideas??? I am currently googling for telephony
service problems. BTW I can send a fax from this same machine, but I
don't know if that involves the telephony service itself.

Hello all,
Have run into a problem with SA after a system restart, Was (am)
running SA as a service. Service shows "starting" in the Services
page, but never starts. Cannot switch to manual or disabled in the
services page as this just causes the MMC console to lock up. All
was
fine before a restart not related to SA issue.
Also where is hosts file for SA? I thought it was in Program
Files\Salive but I don't see it there and searching for hosts returns
only the windows host file C:\WINNT\System32\drivers\etc\hosts.txt.
Could this be why service doesn't start??
ver 4 running as service on local machine
