Yes. When setting up the alerts, there is a field to specify how many cycles it has to be "down" before that alert will be activated. For example, I have our servers e-mail myself when down 1 time, and page my admin group when down 2 times. This way, I get a record of it being down, but people will only get paged if it's down for two cycles. Prevents paging due to flapping. - Eric

We are checking services every minute. We have hosts that will page down (web server is too busy, etc.) and then come back up the next minute. We get a lot of this flapping, which is causing our administrators to eventually ignore the pages. We do have every host set to do a second knock, and have adjusted timeouts on servers where we can. This has helped greatly, however we are still having major headaches.
