I read (but did NOT test this) that it should be possible to check an
Asterisk box via a TCP (or UDP that wasn't clear) protocol
Packet to receive on connect
(x) anything
Packet to send on connect:
REGISTER
Packet to receive as response:
(x) contains
200 OK
port 5600
BUT as said I did NOT tested this!
What you could do is using a sniffer to see how a "client" communicates with
the Asterisk box. On http://www.woodstone.nu/salive/create_protocol_01.asp
there is some generic info on how do create a TCP protocol under Servers
Alive.
If you get it to work then please keep us updated on how you did it.
Dirk.

Subject: [SA-list] Asterisk monitoring?
Hello salive,
Anyone set up Servers Alive to monitor an Asterisk box?
Any pointers?
