It seems to be sorting by group, and *then* by prettyname. Don't know if that's by design or not - but in this instance I want it just by prettyname. Any ideas?
Cheers,
Ian

There are some more options for the sort:
ONSTATUSTIME
HOSTID
UID
NAME (or HOSTNAME)
CHECK
STATUS
PRETTYNAME
IP
UPTIME
ENTRYPATH
GROUPPATH
So the "prettyname" should work too...

I haven't looked at Brent's stuff for far too long - thanks for reminding me!
While I'm typing... what sort keys are available when I'm doing an output template? Page 82 of the manual suggests just two - status and check. Are there more? I want to be able to sort by pretty name, but this (<sa_report sort=prettyname>) doesn't seem to work.
Cheers,
Ian

Good point. Simple is the operative word - most of my pages are just using shtml. ASP is possible (just, at least theoretically).

Maybe it would be good to indicate what "language" you're going to use for the webpage(s), ASP/PHP/PERL/....

Morning all. Not sure how many people will be on the list today (MayDay and all that) but here goes... This is a question for the web developers amongst us.
I'm trying to put together a web page that will present details (including status, check description, stats, round trip graphs etc etc) for any SA check entry. My preference is that you select the entry you are interested in from a drop down box or other scrollable list, and the details appear for that entry. Further options would let you choose timescale (hour/day/week etc) for the graphs.
I'm just trying to work out how to do that. I can extract that info on each cycle using the appropriate SA tags, and I can then put them into _javascript_ variables. But what then? Is that the best way to do it? If I just want to present a single set of entries (i.e. just the tags appropriate for a single check entry) am I best to somehow port all the data into a database each time, and then query the database from the webpage? I'm drowning in a sea of variables and logic...
Hope you follow my meaning. If not I will try to explain further.
Cheers,
Ian
