I have a need to monitor the contents of a text file for one or more specific strings on a remote Windows Server 2008 R2 box. Neither the SA server nor the remote Windows server are on a domain so SA will need to have embedded credentials to access the remote server.
I thought about having SA send a "find" command and testing errorlevel, but I don't see where I can enter credentials for the remote server. I've been looking through this newsgroup as well as the SA documentation and external check options. I can't find anything that comes close. Any ideas? I'm hoping this has been done before.
