Is there a way to log SA’s interaction with the SMTP servers it uses for 
alerts?  I have SA’s logging set to “maximum”. 

 

My current version is 7.0.2505 Enterprise. 

 

I believe I’ve seen where a status change occurs, the SA log shows that 
SA will send an SMTP alert, but none arrives via E-Mail.  Most of the time, I 
do receive the E-Mails, so the results are not consistent. 

 

I’d like to have some type of error code/message/log before I approach my 
E-Mail server administrator. 

 

Related question: What condition has to be present for the SMTP option to 
“fall back” to the other server?
