It's that very same EDSK format, as used for +3/CPC disks. I've had a couple of extensions added to it recently, to better handle some of the protected disks on those platforms. Ironically, the protections used on the +3/CPC are more challenging than the SAM, despite SAM's floppy controller being much more flexible. I'd originally dismissed the idea of using EDSK for SAM disks, due to difference in the controller status registers. When I looked again a few months back it seemed relatively easy to map the status bits between them, so there was no problem after all. EDSK does have its limitations, but it's nothing that affects any SAM disks I've seen so far. SDF can finally be killed off :-) This does raise the issue of disk extensions again, since EDSK images are generally stored as .dsk too. I've started using .mgt for old-style +D/SAM DSK images, to fit in with what's generally used in the Speccy scene. SimCoupe doesn't care about file extensions, so you can mix and match without any problems anyway. Si
