Spectrum emulators support faster tape loading and the ability to auto-load a file. I can't see the problem in allowing this as an OPTION on SimCoupe. Ok, so if you boil it down to a very basic level, then you can class the automatic pressing of the F9 key as a change to the virtual machine. OR, you could look at it as the GUI running some kind of macro that automatically sends the "F9" signal to a virtual machine which is running.
