For what it's worth I'll add my two-penneth: IMHO emulation is the only way to keep interest in the Coupe alive given that hardware is becoming harder to come by and the hardware that people have is getting older and more prone to popping. The accusation levelled that "Emulation will kill the Sam" is completely unfounded - If (and only if) the Sam was a commercial going concern then there would be a case to answer. As somebody pointed out at the time, if the aim is to broaden the appeal of the Sam then the emulator is key in spreading the word - if people want to try and get hold of the hardware they will. All my discs are getting elderly (when DSK'ing them a good 10% had bad sectors) and having them as DSK Images is a good investment. Plus being able to play Tetris at work is an added bonus :-) [Big snip of features] Si - These look superb. > I can reproduce the strange slow-down with 'Hardware support' > enabled with my G200 in work (it's faster with it disabled), > but haven't tracked down why it's happening. I have the exact same issue - it foxed me for a while as my PIII 500 seemed to be running slower than my old P166 :-) > If people are happy playing with unfinished, potentially buggy test > versions, I don't mind making them available as new features > are added. I'd be more than happy to give it a good workout under NT4. > I'd also like to keep control of official releases of it, and would prefer if > there weren't unofficial versions floating about. Any objections? Do want the 0.80 Alpha removing from my site that I put up for people on the list? - I did ask before it went up but had no reply. Dan.
