Firstly I'd like to thank everyone who's been in touch about SimCoupe, for the
positive feedback and offers to help test things out - I do appreciate it.
Progress is being made and things are well back on track...

Dave Laundon's working hard on the CPU side of things, and has already
corrected a load of instruction timing errors. He's looking at a general
revamp of the way things are timed to simplify it and try to track down some
of the remaining problems causing misaligned effects in demos. The initial
tests have already fixed the final flicker in the Flash palette, and a couple
Mnemodemo issues.

I'm still rewriting some of the video code, and have added in many different
ways of getting the generated image on screen. I'm pretty sure some of them
will run a lot faster than the old version, tho there are still issues with a
couple of them that make certain risky assumptions to speed it up! I'm
looking to have another binary out in a few days for people to play with,
which'll give me a chance to get the disk stuff finished off too. Source
available on request of course...

Good point - I hope the recent changes still work on NT4! I've been running
using DX7 on Win98 SE and W2K in recent weeks, tho I'm still only defining the
DX3 version constant before I include the DirectX stuff. I'll give it a try
on a machine in work and reinstall NT4 if there are problems that need looking
at.

No problem - it's good having somewhere for people to be able to get it! :-)
Getting my own website up and running is just another thing to sap away at my
spare time!
