Si,
you can simply wait until keyboard port is read. Then you can simulate F9.
If you do this twice (maybe more), it should be enough to let it autoboot,
without changing ROM code.
After these two (or maybe more, but I hope it will be constant times)
readings
from that i/o port, you don't need to simulate anything anymore.
