That's right how I though about it.

Is this really necessary?
If you autoboot non-bootable disk, you simply get "no dos".
So what?

I can't imagine why somebody can have non-bootable disk in drive 1 when
booting,
since you can't boot from drive 2, and without booting DOS you can hardly
work
with the Coupe.
