So, I tried to compile it.
It compiles fine when I change some includes.

  #include <stdlib.h>
#else
  #include <unistd.h>
#endif

Seems that unistd.h is neither needed nor supported on Win32.

Also, your K&R syntax is pretty old-fashioned.
