As I understand it, this Eugene was someone fairly high-up at Imagine software, which Matthew Smith presumably had some reason to dislike. (Did they reject an offer to publish Manic Miner? Or maybe he used to work there. Or something - I remember reading about this in one of Ian's old copies of Your Computer but I can't remember the details.) Anyway, "Attack Of The Mutant Telephones" was supposedly a satire on Jeff Minter's titles, and that got renamed too. Conspiracy theorists of the world unite.
