Aley... your abrasive manner is quite annoying, as per usual, but here's the
scoop:

It doesn't block anything. It just makes it so that when you double-click
those files they open in notepad.

98% of users don't use script files on Windows.
The 2% remaining are smart enough not to double click random script files
that arrive in email.

The other 98% do not appear to be smart enough (given the number of virus
outbreaks I've seen).

I would rather inconvenience 2% of users so that they have to right-click a
script file and select "Open" to run it, rather than have those 98%
inconvenience everybody by clicking on dangerous files.

You can't do the same with EXE's because EVERYBODY runs them.
