My original SAM serial is 170747382, which is the thousand before.  My
original floppy drive (blue button and slot flap) is 070850251, which is
also the thousand before!  I've no idea whether mine is first thousand
either, tho I did order at least a month or so before the first release.
I've not got any writing on the port backplate or one of the golden
ASICs(?) though.
