Jeremy, it seems like it would be possible to pull out the ref_count field entirely, and just replace it with a stack variable got_mutex. I think this would be clearer. After Andrew's recent discussion, perhaps it would be better to take and release the mutex while getting the connection, and then take it again when doing netlogon, if necessary. Perhaps it's not worth changing that because of the need to retest the original CR though. -- Martin
