Let me summarize what we have:
-Win98 doing a write request to the last byte of the file to be copied
-My machine creates a tempfile of that size and if that takes too long we get a
timeout
-> My questions: What is samba doing if strict allocate is set to "no", is it ignoring
the write request ?
Does it pass the write request on to the system, and the kernel
creates the tempfile ?
What can I do to check who's fault the creation of the tempfile is ?
