The latter: I can't see the server at all from a Windows (XP or Vista) client, yet it's certainly visible and its printers readily available to any GNU/Linux systems in the network. Some people have reported that a registry key (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\LMCompatibilityLevel) needs to be set to 1. I did that, rebooted Windows, but nothing changed. I also turned off the firewall in Windows to no avail.
