Don't ever be surprised what a Windows client does when
you ask it to follow a path not necessarily tested
by Redmond.

But there's one problem left with the "add printer wizard" method of uploading drivers to the server: when you want to use the cups postscript driver - as recommended several times in the howto collection - you will have no luck, because this driver comes without the required .inf file. This looks like a real problem to me, because it's exactly this "postscript only" setup of samba/cups with server based PostScript RIP for non-PS printers, which is by far the most cool setup you can choose. Hmmm...
(The Adobe PS driver would be an alternative, but it has some other disadvantages, which is pointed out in the howto collection too.)
