Dear All,

I have a computer with Windows XP Home accessing a Linux server using Samba. Although most of people say that its not possible to use XP Home in network, it can work (In my network, I have 6 computers accessing network). The particularity is that it can not access domain, but this is another story.

I had to reinstall Windows due to a problem and after that I can not access samba shares anymore. Looking at the log, I can see the following message:

[2004/11/23 08:41:08, 2] auth/auth.c:check_ntlm_password(310)
check_ntlm_password: Authentication for user [XXX] -> [XXX]
  FAILED with error NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER

Im trying to use text password (encrypt password = no), disable encrypt password at Windows register, but I still can not access linux shares. Some of you has a suggestion/trick?

Thanks.

Marcelo
