Fail-over is not the problem. The trouble starts when you want to share the same directory from two different cluster nodes at the same time. Without making Samba cluster-aware this directly leads to data-corruption, even if you are running on a cluster file system. Work is being done right now to get there, but doing this fast is not easy.
