Hi Ralph, you are right. I had to do 2 things:
1. Uncomment in /etc/sane.d/gt68xx.conf: # Mustek ScanExpress 1200 UB Plus: override "mustek-scanexpress-1200-ub-plus" 2. Get SBfw.usb (instead PS1fw.usb) from here: http://www.meier-geinitz.de/sane/gt68xx-backend/ I used this artikle: https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Scanner/gt68xx/ With scanimage and Simple Scan the scanner works fine, but XSane crashes always, after the scan has completed. See: https://gitlab.com/sane-project/frontend/xsane/issues/15 Unfortunately I'm unable to upload the crash report, as it is > 10 MB, it is 25.6 MB. -Ulf Am 02.10.19 um 14:01 schrieb Ralph Little: > Hi > Looks to me like you are missing a firmware file. > > I don't know about this model but for my Epson Perfection 1670 I had > to copy the firmware file off the CD that came with it and drop it in > the proper place. > > Cheers > Ralph > > > On Wed, Oct 2, 2019, 11:22 Ulf Zibis, <[email protected] > <mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: > > Hi, > > I have this old scanner here and want to test if it works on Ubuntu > 18.04 64 bit. > > I get: > $ lsusb > Bus 006 Device 006: ID 05d8:4002 Ultima Electronics Corp.
