Hi all, I just downloaded the new sane version 1.08 and tried to use it with my Nikon LS-40 ED scanner using coolscan2.
I was able to get one scan out of this installation, which makes me thinking it should work in some kind of way. But all the other times I tried to scan a picture or to aquire a preview the xscanimage command just hangs and could not be killed anymore. The hang is so bad that I can't even kill it with the -9 option. The error messages I receive during the scan are the following: scanner.c: open_scanner(0): Scanner device is already open scanner.c: read_scanner(0): funky result:-75. Consult Documentation/usb/scanner.txt. usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout scanner.c: write_scanner: NAK received. scanner.c: read_scanner(0): funky result:-75. I believe my config looks ok. Here the output of the /proc/bus/usb/devices T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 2 Spd=12 MxCh= 0 D: Ver= 1.10 Cls=ff(vend.)
