Same project. Franz only has a scsi scanner so hasn't bothered trying to make usb work on os/2. I have a usb scanner, which is supported through Tame (http://www.os2world.com/goran/tame.htm) which includes a special build of sane that works with usb on os/2 with the epson & snapscan backends, however the person working on that seems to have vanished, so I'm trying to bring things up to date.
