Whenever I would install the SamsungUnifiedLinux drivers the install script would add the smfp port to /etc/sane.d/dll.conf and woule create device nodes for the printer but the driver for the smfp was broken or not installed correctly. In any event scanimage would always hang unless I removed the smfp entry from /etc/sane.d/
