Some of these plugin scanners do work with other backends: snapscan, plustek and as Allan mentions, epjitsu. But I really don't know anything about these backends, sorry. What I can tell you is that this scanner will certainly not work with the epson or epson2 backends because they do not support the plugin scanners.
