Jai Ramji Ki!

Dear Friends:

Although the standard edition of Srimad Bhagavat Gita (cannonized by Adi
Sankaracharya) contains 700 verses, there is at least another edition around that has
745 verses. I have the additional 45 verses in handwritten notes from my father. These
are extremely interesting verses.

Apparently, this edition of the Gita was once in print, included in an edition of the
Mahabharata. Here is the information that I have about the publishers.

Rajavaidya Jivaram Kalidas Sastri (Editor) Published by The Rasashaalaa
Aushadhaashram, Gondal, Kathiwad, India.

In this edition of the Mahabharata, there is a verse in the Bhismabadh parva on the
distribution of verses in the Gita.

shhaTshataani sabiMshaani shlokaanaaM praaha keshavaH
arjunaH saptapa~Nchaashat saptashhashhThiM tu saMjayaH
dhR^itaraashhTraH shlokamekaM gitaaya maanamuchyate.

Keshava said 620 verses, Arjuna 57, Sanjaya 67 and Dhritaraashtra 1. Total 745.

I have not been able to obtain this edition of Mahabharata. I was wondering if any of
you know of a way to obtain this book.

Regards,

Dhruba.

Would you be able to type them in so we can put them on our sanskrit
documents website?
