There is one possibility. Nowadays most mail servers are introducing
spam filters.
Make sure that your mailer does not tag mails coming from
@cs.utah.edu
as spam.
I can't see other reasons why this is happening.

Regarding the sandhi in "tilakaNaamshchandanaiH"
The split is: tilakaNaan + chandanaiH
ie, bahuvachanam of tilakaNam (dwitiiyaa) is meant here.
This sandhi is similar to the one in:
".... sarvaanuragaamshcha divyaan" (Bhagavad Giita, 11.15). -
uragaan + cha = uragaamshcha

Ganapati Sastri was the biographer of Ramana
Maharshi. He was a nimishakavi and earned
the title of Kaavyakanta. One of his contemporaries was Ambikaadatta of Bengal,
who was also a great nimishakavi. He was
older than Ganapati Sastri. So he invited
Sastri to Calcutta for a duel. When Sastri was ushered before Ambikaadatta, he
introduced
himself as Ganapati. Datta replied
"ahamambikaadattah" .
The duel started. Sastri said:
aham ambikaayaah ourasaputrah.
bhavaan tu dattaputra eva.
(I am the legitimate or natural son of Ambika. You are only her adopted son.)
I do not know whether Datta admitted defeat
or the duel continued.

That is just their surname or lastname. They are not real nimishakavis :-)
Nimishakavi Satyanarayana is the name of a person like
Susarla Sai is my name.
Maybe somebody in their ancestors in the past was a real nimishakavi.
Hence it stuck as their last name.

I have enrolled myself for MA Sanskrit (Vyakarna) from Rastriya Sanskrit
Vidyapeeth, Tirupathi.
I had some prelimnary knowledge in the past, but now I find the syllabus out
of bounds, having enrolled.
I am very interested in pursuing the studies. I need a good teacher to
teach me grammar patiently at Trivandrum (I am a very interested student, but not
a very fast learner).
Can you suggest a good teacher at Trivandrum, Kerala?
