Hello,
My first post here. The other day a colleague at work mentioned that there
was a sholka / mantra for finding lost things. He did not know it, but said
it was related to Kartaveerya. Anyone knows what it is?

Here is the link that has the answer to your question. I just googled. Along with 
Kartaveeryaarjuna shloka (is it really a shloka? Oh no, not again:-), there are other 
shlokas at the link that are supposed to do particular things. Some have audios too 
including the Kaartaveeryarjuna chant. Good luck!
