Couldn't it be parsed this way?
tamaakhupatraM vinaayakaM raajendra bhaja, maag~naanadaayakaM
or
raajendra! tvam bhaja kevalaM tamaakhupatraM vinaayaM, maa bhaja na kadaapi
ag~Nanadaayakam.

dissiminator of ignorance).

That sounds very reasonable and gives just the opposite meaning!
Is it grammatically OK to leave the prohibitive 'maa' with an implied verb?
Again note if we write:
'tamaakhupatraM raajendra bhaja, maa g~naanadaayakaM'
we get the opposite meaning.
Also if we take 'maa' to be the dhatu meaning ' to conclude or infer' we get
the meaning:
he raajaN! muuShikaaruudhaM vinaayakaM bhajasva evaM taM nishpaadaya
~gnaanadaayakaM
O King supreme! Worship vinaayaka, conclude (he is) giver of knowledge!

That is quite common actually. [There is some discussion of omissions of
words in maahaabhaashhya, with suggestions for justification based on
Panini, if you are interested in that sort of thing.]

One other way of interpreting
'tamaakhupatraM raajendra bhaja, maag~naa na daayakaM'
maa = Lakshmi = material wealth
Hence maa~gnaa = knowledge of material objects or perishables
Hence the meaning would be;
Hey great king! Worship Vinaayaka who does not give perishable knowledge.
implying Vinaayaka is a purveyor of True imperishable knowledge (brahmag~naana)
