On the two questions posted by Sri Jay Naik:

This -or anything that has a similar meaning- is certainly
not there in the 3 kaavyas and 3 plays of Kalidasa. Of course, there can
be "single/isolated" verses (muktaka) by the poet, but the style and
content does not look to be related to any of the ancient Indian
Sanskrit poets, let alone Kalidaasa....

>2. Where does the famous subhashita - sahasaa vidadheeta na kriyaam,
>avivekah paramaapadaam padam... appear? Vararuchi's work? Which?

This sloka is in kiraataarjuniiyam of Bharavi (In the
3rd canto, I think). The context is: Yudhishtira pacifying Bheema after
listening to his (and Draupadi's) arguments that Pandavas should waste
no time in retaliating against the atrocities of Duryodhana (This is
during their vana-vaasa in dwaitavana, where Yudhishtira gathers
information about Duryodhana's style of ruling through a spy).

    vR^iNute hi vimR^ishyakaariNam
guNalubdhaah swayameva sampadah || is the second half of the verse.

    Thanks !
    Srikrishnan

At some corner of the web I found this page containing - [S']AKOONTALA OR THE
LOST RING, TRANSLATED BY SIR MONIER MONIER-WILLIAMS

http://www.fullbooks.com/Sakoontala-or-The-Lost-Ring1.html

Hope all of you will see this, if not yet seen and preserve for future.
