The two lines
Dharmasya tvaritaa gatih
and
Ishtam dharmena yojayet
are used in the MR Kale edition of the Panchatantram. In that case, they are
used to illustrate the fallacy of reading a line out of context. I was under
the impression that there is a correct context in some vedic or upanishadic
text.
Another riddle with a last line that does not make for much absolute meaning....
bhojanaante cha kiM pathyaM jayantaH kasya vai sutaH.
kathaM viSNupadaM proktaM takraM shakrasya durlabham..

about books on it. Can some one suggest the title of any book on nirukta with
explanatory notes in English ?

Thanks for posting another riddle. I knew only the last line "takram
shakrasya durlabham".
I was under the impression that this was a tribute for "buttermilk" asking
everyone to consume the same for good health.

You can make a google search MOTILAL BANARSIDAS and then search for Nirukta.
You can find several publications on the subject.
