Here the two occasions of "ma Avaha" is the sandhi of
"me+Avaha" = "ma Avaha". Based on context "me" is the
short form for "mahyam" (English: for me).
Joke: "tAM mAM Avaha", (which is not correct) creates
inadvertant humor by meaning, "Call her, who is me..."
A rather amusing misapplication of advaita
identification with the goddess. Then one asks the
fire to mediate with this goddess who is me, to
provide the gold that will be used to obtain a cow, a
horse, and servants.
On another note:
The difficulty I have with the second quoted line is
the breakage in the meter (by my syllable count
9+8=17). The expectation is 8+8=16. Note: In this
case, ma+Avaha is NOT mAvaha, not allowed even for
syllable reduction.
This meter-breakage is not a big deal, because there
are a few other misfits, in other verses that are very
nearly of the anushhTup meter.
