dear members,

this is not exactly a sanskrit related question, but
more regarding creating sanskrit documents using
LaTeX.

does anyone use Charles Wikner's "skt" package for
typesetting sanskrit using LaTeX? i installed it in my
machine and the installation seems to be fine.
however, i'm not able to use the transliteration
scheme properly. for instance, i'm not able to produce
"ra" and a sample input like {\skt raama} produces the
equivalent of 'rma'. moreover, the '.r' facility given
in the documentation for 'R^i' doesn't seem to work
(actually, nothing seems to work! i just gave two
samples).

does anyone know how to fix this?

can someone suggest an alternate package to create
documents in devanAgarI lipI?

thanking you in advance,
amuthan.
