If you like big words, I suggest <nirabhyavekSaNa> nirabhyavekshana; but easier is <vicAra> vichaara, which is usually translated as "enquiry", as in <Atma-vicAra> aatma-vichaara "self-enquiry"; in the outward direction it is <vicaya> vichaya. jd santosha paramo laabhah sat-sangah paramaa gatih | vicaarah paramam jnaanam shamo hi paramam sukham || Contentment is the highest gain, Good Company the highest course, Enquiry the highest wisdom, and Peace the highest enjoyment. --------------------------------- All new Yahoo! On the heels of the recent episode of Miss Kavya Viswanathan lifting the passages from the two novels of Mr Megan Mcafferty, the next turn seems to be of Dr Ramakant Jha of the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth University, one of the three Universities in the ancient city of learning, i.e., Banaras. Dr Jha has profusely copied major portions of my thesis (1976) verbatim and got the doctoral degree from the above Universtiy named after Mahatma Gandhi! What an Experiment with the Truth by Dr Jha ! The hither too unknown academic theft made by him 25 years ago, has come to my knowledge only three weeks ago ! After verifying the matter with all responsibility, I am breaking this shocking news to the academic world. I was awarded Ph.D by the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, as far back as 1976 for my thesis in English entitled "A Critical Study of the Suta Samhita" - a Pauranic text very much popular in the South falling under Skanda Mahapurana. Almost 80% of my thesis has been plagiarised by Dr Ramakant Jha in Hindi verbatim including footnotes, charts and tables. He has submitted his fake thesis entitled "Suta Samhita ka Alocanatmak Adhyayan" to Kashi Vidyapeeth University and got the Ph.D degree in the year 1981. The same has been published under the title "Suta Samhita Mimamsa" by the famous Indological Publishers, Chowkhamba Vidyabhavan, Banaras, in the year 2005. The printed book which consists of 285 pages costs Rs. 300. Except the first 20 pages of introductory chapter and the last 14 pages of "Upasamhar" and Bibliography, the remaining major portion of the book (almost 251 pages) is nothing but a verbatim Hindi reproduction of my thesis (1976) in English - both in its title and contents and the expressions too. It may be an interesting study to know how the plagiarist Dr Jha had access to my unpublished thesis. What a disgraceful intellectual fraud has been going on in the so-called Universities of higher learning! Who has to and how to teach a lesson to such shameless spurious academicians? For more details and <http://www.taralabalu.org/Suta%20Samhita/plagiarism/> the sample pages of my original thesis and the Plagiarist Dr Ramakant Jha's book, follow this link.
