*Please send resume to [email protected] <[email protected]> * *Job Title: UI/UX Architect (2 positions)Location: Lansing, MIDuration: 3 MonthsDirect Client PositionClient: State of MIThis position would provide user experience services for the State of Michigan, Department of Environmental Quality, MiWaters application: recruitment of test participants and usability testing in order to identify usability issues with the application. DEQ MiWaters project has requested that Usability Testing (2 days of testing) be conducted on the external public facing portion of the application. The goal of the usability testing is to identify usability issues within the MiWaters application and determine the test participants efficiency, effectiveness and satisfaction with the application. Prior to Usability Test: • Identify goals of usability test (work with client to determine goals, scenarios and tasks for the usability test) • Validate test scenarios and tasks. Walkthrough the application validating the scenarios set up for the test work well. The project team will have the final review and approval of the scenarios and tasks. Ensure each test session will not run over 1 hour in length. • Position will work with DEQ stakeholders to identify the key profile(s) of the users of the site and create a screener and survey for recruiting test participants for the two days of usability testing (up to 10 total tests). Once the screener is created, position will work with DEQ stakeholders to screen and identify 10 study participants for the study. • Identify workable dates for Usability Test(s) and follow-up meetings • Schedule timeslots/appointments for test participants and observers. During the Usability Test: • Facilitate and moderate the usability test(s) ensuring that sessions are recorded. After the Usability Test: • Provide deliverable outlining the potential whys (the science and research) behind the test participants’ issues that occurred during the test and recommendations for needed improvements. • Deliverable will summarize the usability issues discovered during the session. Skills Required Extensive experience in user interface design in order to improve the user interface experience. Experience and knowledge of web accessibility, ADA Section 508 requirements. Extensive experience with group facilitation. Extensive experience with usability evaluation methodologies, i.e., usability evaluations, user group facilitation. Skills Preferred Experienced human experience researcher, including website redesigns, web accessibility, focus group facilitation, usability testing, and expert reviews. Experience Required Usability evaluation facilitation. Focus group facilitation. Web site redesign Experience Preferred Experience on several information architecture projects for government and corporate websites. Experienced researcher, e.g., usability evaluations, user interface heuristic evaluations, focus groups, cards sorts, website redesigns, and taxonomy design.
