Purpose Client has a need to acquire an Oracle / SQL Database Administrator – Advanced on a time and materials basis for the roles/responsibilities stated herein. 2. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and user staff • Ability to process information logically • Ability to design systems logic and/or process information • Ability to prepare program specifications • Ability to perform mathematical calculations • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments • Ability to communicate technical data processing information effectively both verbally and in writing • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others 3. Roles / Responsibilities Oracle / SQL Database Administrator – Advanced • Backup to Senior database administrator overseeing client licensure-dedicated database systems • Knowledge and experience with client licensure system preferred (base system is Versa LicenseEase v4 for Oracle) • Knowledge and experience with client internet licensure applications preferred • Knowledge and experience with Business Objects (Crystal) Reporting services preferred Oracle Database Administration operational responsibilities include: • Oracle Application Server v 10g and above operating on Solaris 10 • Oracle Database Server v 10g and above operation on Solaris 10 • Oracle Dataguard • Oracle Streams • Oracle RMAN • Administration of Development, Test, and Production Oracle database environments supporting licensure system • Development of Oracle packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and scheduled jobs • Configuration management for database and application servers for licensure system, includes application and database patches supplied by licensure system vendor, SCCS management of internal code changes to Oracle Forms/Reports, maintenance/development of scripts for the licensure system batch job control environment • Support of licensure-dedicated application development team including PLSQL development and tuning • Support of licensure system operations MS SQL Database Administration operational responsibilities include: • MS SQL 2000 (current environment) • MS SQL 2005, 2008 (target environment) • Administration of Development, Test, and Production SQL database environments supporting licensure-dedicated applications • Development of stored procedures, triggers, DTS/SSIS packages, scheduled jobs, and linked servers supporting licensure-dedicated applications • Configuration management (SourceSafe administration) for database objects used by licensure-dedicated applications • Support of licensure-dedicated application development team 4. Submission of Proposal • The contract period for this statement of work is from the inception of the contract through June 30, 2010. • Client will perform a background check including fingerprinting which will be completed on the consultant working on this project prior to the contractor commencing • The vendor is required to submit pre-screening reference checks on all candidates submitted • The vendor must supply a matrix of candidate skills highlighting required skills • Supply ONLY the top candidate from your company • Vendor must submit the candidate’s resume on company letterhead • Vendors quote price must be effective for at least 60 days • The client will not contract with a vendor that restricts employment of its employees or contractors after conclusion or termination of a client purchase order. By responding to the purchase order, vendor specifically agrees to this provision. • It is the supplier's responsibility to submit only resumes of staff members who meet US Dept. of Labor employment eligibility requirements, and eligibility requirements (Form I-9) of the Department of Homeland Security, U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. • Vendor proposals must be received prior to close of business day Friday November 6, 2009. • Reporting for emergency duty is required as part of your position. Emergencies may occur at any time and create varying degrees of damage, human suffering, injury, death, and property damage or destruction. The client has responsibilities before, during and/or after emergencies. As a contractor, you are an important part of our emergency responsibilities.
