Position : * EDI Analyst *in Portland, OR. - Duration: 6 month contract - Location: Portland, OR - Rate: $40/hr - Client cannot pay for expenses - Candidate must have *excellent* communication skills (9/10) - It is *highly desired* that the candidate has worked with EDI 204 / 210 (related to motor carriers), and is familiar with LTL (less than load). *Description:* *Responsibilities*: Essential Functions: · Participate in the review and analysis of business requirements and the configuration, mapping and management for EDI based transactions and processes. · Document system specifications and solutions to satisfy project requirements. · Develop and perform testing as needed. · Participate in the deployment/implementation of customer solutions. · Participate in a self directed team environment. · Collaborate with project team members and QA on development, customer issues, and security requirements. · Provide system and customer support to users including issue resolution. · Accurately repair and document changes to the system as assigned. · Promote and support electronic offerings to sales staff and perspective clients. · Develop and maintain EDI training manual and system documentation. · Monitor system and performance and troubleshoot issues. * * *Qualifications*: · Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree in technical related field or related certification required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. · 3+ years of experience in IT solutions development preferably in medium to large corporate environments. · Broad range of network and desktop knowledge, including experience with EDI translators (Gentran), EDI standards, ANSI X12/EFIDACT, EDIFECS, XML, JCL, TSO, and Microsoft Office Suite. · Well developed written and verbal communication skills in customer settings and with internal management. · Well developed active listening, facilitation and presentation skills. · Knowledge of transportation management. · Solid knowledge of IT software development life cycle methodologies and processes. · Well developed time management and prioritization skills. · Demonstrated analytical capabilities. · Exposure to managing customer expectations. · Ability to learn and understand functionality of multiple transportation-related systems. · Ability to establish solid business relationships and work effectively with business and client contacts. · Ability to work and participate effectively in a dynamic self directed team environment. · Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical people.
